In November 2017, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment joined UNICEF Korea for their #LoveMyself campaign. This campaign supports the pre-existing UNICEF #ENDviolence campaign, which started in 2013. The campaign aims to protect children and adolescents from violence.
BTS collected donations for #LoveMyself through the sale of BTS themed products and the presence of UNICEF desks at the dates of their Speak Yourself tour.
At the start of the campaign, BTS and Big Hit donated 500M KR ₩ (€ 390,000).
On 30 June 2019 they announced that they had raised 2.4 KR ₩ (€ 1,866,151).
The three albums of the Love Yourself era (LY: Her; LY: Tear; LY: Answer) contributed to the donations, as 3% of the sales proceeds of these three albums were donated to the Love Myself campaign.
In September 2018, BTS were invited to the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York to attend the conference on "UNICEF Generation Unlimited". RM, as the leader of the group, gave a speech in front of the assembly on the importance of accepting oneself.
